Hi, and welcome to ProducingTheatre.com. This is a site for producers. It doesn’t matter where you are in your journey; you are welcome.
Whether you’re a self-producing artist or an experienced creative producer, we hope you’ll get something out of our content. Anyone who wants to learn about producing live theatre is welcome.
For anyone considering taking on a producing role, I encourage you to take a look around.

Our goal
The main goal of this site is to make information about producing theatre accessible to everyone.
My aim is to offer helpful advice, resources and tools that you can use to get your production onstage.
The performing arts need producers. Nothing gets done without them. I hope I can make it a little easier to get started.
Things you need to know
The information on this site comes from the experiences of people who have produced theatre in the real world. I am sharing that knowledge and their experiences to make your journey easier.
ProducingTheatre.com is not the bible. It doesn’t claim to be the right or only way to do things. We are not experts in every topic, we haven’t worked everywhere globally, and we don’t know everything. There is always something new to learn for anyone.
If you read something that you believe is incorrect, out of date or needs a more accurate explanation, please reach out via our contact page.

Free (as in free beer)
The large majority of the content here is free.
We don’t charge you, but we still need to make enough money to ensure we have regular fresh constant and pay for web hosting and maintenance.
So on the site:
- We run a small amount of curated advertising
- We encourage you to donate to keep the site running
We’d really appreciate it if you could donate or take time to turn off your adblocker.
In future, we aim to add some paid services like online courses and e-books, but articles will always stay free.
